What must I bring with me on my first visit to the center?

No identification is required. If you know the first day of your last menstrual period, that is helpful. If you would like a support person to accompany you, they are welcome to attend.

Do I need to make an appointment for a pregnancy test?

No appointment is necessary. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments can be made if you’d like to schedule a specific time to come in.

Can I bring a friend or family member with me?

Yes, if there is someone you would like to bring along, they are welcome. Please remember that information shared between you and the center is confidential and cannot be discussed with others unless you give permission.

What should I do to prepare for an ultrasound appointment?

Please arrive to your ultrasound promptly to allow adequate time to complete the paperwork. You do not need to bring anything with you. If possible, a full bladder is preferred to obtain quality ultrasound images.

Will you tell anyone about my visit to the center?

No. All visits are free and confidential. Your information will not be shared with anyone.

If I am under 18, can I get a pregnancy test or ultrasound without my parents’ permission or presence?

Yes, you can receive these services without parental presence or consent.

Can anyone make me have an abortion?

No one can legally force you to have an abortion. Although we do not perform or refer for abortion, our center strives to provide factual information about all your choices if pregnant.

Do you provide referrals to an obstetrician?

Yes, we can offer referrals for local obstetricians to assist you with prenatal care and giving birth.

Who provides counseling at the Pregnancy Help Center?

Volunteers at the center are trained, caring individuals who have your health and best interest in mind. We are a non-judgmental organization that strives to support and assist those who need it.

I think I might be pregnant and need to talk to someone. Do I need an appointment?

No, if you’d like to talk with someone about your situation, you are welcome to come by during regular business hours or call our 24-hour hotline at (937) 547-1112 to speak with a caring individual.

What if I choose to place my baby for adoption?

We are not affiliated with an adoption agency but can provide referrals to several agencies to help you begin the adoption process if you wish.

What if I think I have an STD or STI?

While we do not offer STD or STI testing at the center, we can give you information on where to receive this type of testing confidentially.

Do I have to be a resident of Darke County?

No. Our services are offered to anyone who needs them, no matter where you live.
