What do I need to bring with me on my first visit to the center?
No identification is required. If you know the first day of your last period that is helpful. If you would like to have a support person accompany you, they are welcome to attend.
Do I need to make an appointment for a pregnancy test?
No appointment is necessary. Walk ins are welcome, but if you'd like to schedule a specific time to come in, appointments can be made.
Can I bring a friend or family member with me?
Yes, if there is someone that you would like to bring along, they are welcome. Please keep in mind that information shared between you and the center is confidential, and cannot be discussed with others unless you give permission to do so.
What do I need to do to prepare for an ultrasound appointment?
Please arrive to your ultrasound promptly in order to allow adequate time to fill out paperwork. You do not need to bring anything with you. If possible, a full bladder is preferred to aid in obtaining quality ultrasound images.
Will you tell anyone about my visit to the center?
No. All visits are confidential, your information will not be shared with anyone.
If I am under 18, can I get a pregnancy test or ultrasound without my parents’ permission or presence?
Yes, you can receive these services without parent presence or consent.
Can anyone make me have an abortion?
No. Our pregnancy center strives to inform you of your choices if pregnant. But no one can legally force you to have an abortion.
Do you provide referrals to an abortion clinic or obstetrician?
Who provides counseling at the Pregnancy Help Center?
Volunteers at the center are trained, caring individuals who have your health and best interest in mind. We are a non-judgmental organization that strives to give support and assistance to those who need it.
I think I might be pregnant and need to talk to someone. Do I need an appointment?
No, if you'd like to talk with someone about your situation, you are welcome to come by during normal welcome hours, or call our 24 hour hotline to speak with a caring individual.
What if I choose to place my baby for adoption?
We network with several adoption agencies that can begin the adoption process if you wish to do so.
What if I think I have an STD or STI?
While we do not offer STD or STI testing at the center, we can give you information on where to receive this type of testing confidentially.
Do I have to be a resident of Darke County?
No. Our services are offered to anyone who is in need of them, no matter where you live.
